K-Dur
K-Dur contains potassium chloride which is used to treat low
blood potassium levels which usually occurs in those who take high blood pressure
medicaitons. K-Dur actions: Special slow-release formulation and high content
of potassium chloride make K-Dur a well tolerated, safe and efficient preparation
for the prevention and treatment of potassium deficiencies. K-Dur indications:
Prophylactically, during prolonged and intensive treatment with diuretics, especially
in patients receiving concomitant treatment with digitalis and to patients with
liver cirrhosis. K-Dur supplement is also indicated during prolonged treatment
with corticosteroids. In manifest hypokalaemia and in cases of digitalis intoxication. Order
K-dur K-Dur precautions: Potassium supplements should be used with great
care in renal insufficiency and should never be given concurrently with potassium-sparing
diuretics, eg spironolactone, triamterene or amiloride (also in combination with
thiazides). Some patients may develop potassium depletion despite the use of potassium
supplements. This is a particular danger to digitalized patients or those with
hepatic ascites. Nonspecific small bowel lesions characterized by stenosis
and possibly ulcerations have been associated with the oral administration of
tablets and capsules containing potassium salt. Symptoms and signs which
indicate ulceration or obstruction of the small bowel in patients taking tablets
containing potassium salt are indications for stopping treatment with such preparations
immediately. Order
