Synthroid®
SYNTHROID has been available since 1955 and is deemed safe and
effective by the FDA.
SYNTHROID contains a synthetic thyroid hormone that is identical
to one of the hormones, T4, produced by the thyroid gland. SYNTHROID
is prescribed to replace a hormone that is not being produced in
sufficient quantities by your thyroid gland. This condition is called
hypothyroidism.
SYNTHROID is also used to treat benign thyroid nodules and in conjunction
with surgery and radioactive iodine therapy in the management of
certain types of thyroid cancer.
